Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Greenbrier County Criminal History. By visiting or using any part of the site, a user agrees to follow them. Anyone who does not accept the terms should stop using the site. This is a private informational resource and not a Greenbrier County, West Virginia, or federal government service.

Effective date: August 11, 2026

1. What This Website Is

The site organizes general information about Greenbrier County criminal-record custodians and links to official courts, law-enforcement agencies, WVDCR, the West Virginia State Police, and municipal sources. It does not operate a government database, issue records, or speak for any public office.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use must be lawful and must not interfere with the site or other visitors. A user agrees not to:

  • violate federal, West Virginia, or local law
  • harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate another person
  • use information for a decision regulated by the FCRA
  • attempt unauthorized access to a system or account
  • scrape, overload, disrupt, or disable site functions
  • misrepresent an unofficial result as a certified government record

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached through the site may not be used to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, discriminate against, or confront anyone. West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry information exists for public safety. Misuse, vigilantism, trespass, or interference can violate law and the registry’s terms.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not prepare consumer reports or provide a service designed for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions. A user must not use site content or a linked result for any such purpose. An authorized official check must be obtained through the proper West Virginia State Police and IdentoGO process or another provider legally permitted for the intended purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations of Greenbrier County cases, warrants, expungement, arrest records, and access rules are not legal advice. They do not create an attorney-client relationship or decide how West Virginia law applies to a particular person. A licensed attorney should address an individual legal matter.

6. No Warranties

The site and its content are supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that information is complete, current, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose. Government addresses, fees, hours, court entries, custody status, and access rules can change. Partner search results can also be incomplete, stale, or linked to the wrong person.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External agencies and companies control the pages, tools, prices, policies, and results they provide. Following a link leaves this site. No responsibility is accepted for an external service’s accuracy, availability, security, content, or data handling.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, the site’s original text, graphics, branding, arrangement, and code are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. They may not be copied, altered, distributed, or republished beyond lawful use without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other loss arising from use of the site, inability to use it, reliance on its content, or use of a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, costs, losses, and reasonable legal fees caused by that user’s unlawful use, breach of these terms, or violation of another person’s rights.

11. Governing Law

West Virginia law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in West Virginia. Public-record access remains subject to the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, while CIB dissemination is governed separately by West Virginia Code §15-2-24.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised when services, practices, or legal duties change. A revision becomes effective when posted with an updated effective date. Continued use after publication means the visitor accepts the new terms.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended without notice when needed to protect the site, enforce these terms, meet a legal duty, or respond to misuse.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as much as necessary to make it enforceable where the law permits.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
